Michael Haussman’s Edge of the World opens in cinemas June 2021. It is based on the true story of Sir James Brooke, who defied the British Empire to rule a jungle kingdom in 1840s Borneo, and embarked on a lifelong crusade to end piracy, slavery and head-hunting, and inspired both the Rudyard Kipling story “The Man Who Would Be King” and Joseph Conrad’s novels “Lord Jim” and “Heart Of Darkness”. The film stars Jonathan Rhys Meyers as James Brooke.
